Sustainably cultivated Original Wulong Grade | Floral and Nutty-Sweet Character | Semi-fermented curly leaves with the scent of orchids and Thea sinensis blossoms.
This delicate special Wulong-Style ‘Roasted Kuan Yin Oolong’ was harvested in late Spring and creates a reddish infusion with a fruity and nutty-sweet flavor. An afternoon tea for connoisseurs.
May also be served with light foods and desserts as well as Iced Tea.
Precious leaves from the Fujian Province in China are also referred to as Wulong or Wu-Long Teas (named after Wu Liang who, as legend has it, started the semi-fermentation process of the ‘Black Dragon’ leaves). A higher, more precious Grade of this variety is our TF # 1510 Prime China Green Tea MONKEY PICKED OOLONG. To sweeten consider adding just a few White Rock Candy Crystals.
Theine (caffeine) content: Medium | Gift Tin Packaging (Reusable & Recyclable)
Suggested Water Temperature: 180 F | Suggested Infusion Time: 5 Minutes.
Preparation: Bring fresh water to the boil. Let it cool down for 2 minutes. Warm up your tea pot by rinsing it with hot water. Fill one teaspoon per 6 oz cup of this Oolong Tea tea into the preheated tea pot or preferred cup. Pour the hot water into the tea. Let infuse up to 5 Minutes and serve. Remove infuser or pour your tea into another tea-pot or thermos carafe. Using an infuser or ‘Permanent Tea Filter’ for your cup or pot makes it easy to separate the leaves from the beverage after steeping. Most customers like to prepare another infusion with the same leaves.
Culinary notes: Because of its fresh and lighter green tea character this Oolong Grade Tea is offered as a choice with light foods, vegetarian, macrobiotic or vegetable recipes and special desserts including fruits and lighter French cheese selections. Suitable as High Tea selection.
