Taiwan [Formosa] is cultivating and processing tea since the 17th Century. The roots originate from China’s Fujian Province, home the famous White Teas. Until recently most of the Oolong and Sencha crops were grown to be exported to Japan. Most Tea Estates are located below 1000 feet above sea level at the northern part of the island.
Formosa ‘Jade & Champagne’ Oolongs rank among the world’s finest teas.
Academic research shows that green and semi-fermented thea sinensis leaves are potent fat burners and help to prevent cancer and arteriosclerosis.
Precious leaves from the Fujian Province in China and Taiwan are also referred to as Wulong or Wu-Long Teas (named after Wu Liang who, as legend has it, started the semi-fermentation process of the ‘Black Dragon’ leaves).

Ingredients: Semifermented long-leaf green Wulong Grade Oolong Tea from Taiwan. Contains Silver Tips.

Suggested Water Temperature: 190 F  –  Suggested Infusion Time: 7 Minutes  –  One serving makes two infusions.

Preparation: Bring fresh water to the boil. Let it cool down 1 Minute. Warm up your tea pot by rinsing it with hot water. Fill one teaspoon per 6 oz cup of this Oolong Tea into the preheated tea pot or preferred cup. Pour the hot water into the tea. Let infuse up to 5 Minutes and serve. Remove infuser or pour your tea into another tea-pot or thermos carafe. Using an infuser or ‘Permanent Tea Filter’ for your cup or pot makes it easy to separate the leaves from the beverage after steeping.

Culinary notes: Because of its fresh-mellow and darker character this Oolong Tea is offered as a choice with stronger foods, vegetarian, macrobiotic or vegetable recipes and special desserts including fruits, stronger cheese selections. Suitable as afternoon and High Tea choice.
