TeaFountain Limited Sencha Edition | Prime Sencha Genmaicha grade with roasted and popped rice blended with high-grade Japanese Usu (light) Matcha, the powdered Tencha-based green tea. The Matcha by itself is used in the Cha No Yu Tea Ceremony. One of the famous Japan Green Tea blends.
The toasted, roasted and popped hulled rice kernels add an exotic, nutty, and smoky-sweet mild flavor to this Sencha-based selection.
Japanese Long Leaf Sencha carries a delicate bouquet and is rich in Vitamin C. Enjoy as an all day beverage, even cold or serve as special Dinner Tea with light foods. To lightly sweeten your beverage consider our Rock Candy Crystals or popular Oregon Tea Honeys # 88005.

Ingredients: Prime Green Whole Leaf Sencha Tea and powdered Tencha Grade Usu Cha, roasted rice and popped rice kernels from Japan.
Suggested Water Temperature: 170 F – Suggested Infusion Time: 4 Minutes.
Preparation: Bring fresh water to the boil. Let it cool down for 2 minutes. Warm up your tea pot by rinsing it with hot water. Fill one teaspoon per 6 oz cup of this Green Tea tea into the preheated tea pot or preferred cup. Pour the hot water into the tea. Let infuse 3 Minutes and serve. Remove infuser or pour your tea into another tea-pot or thermos carafe. Using an infuser or ‘Permanent Tea Filter’ for your cup or pot makes it easy to separate the leaves from the beverage after steeping. Most customers like to prepare another infusion with the same leaves.
Culinary notes: Because of its fresh and lighter green tea character this Green Tea is offered as a choice with light foods, vegetarian, macrobiotic or vegetable recipes and special desserts including fruits and lighter French cheese selections. Preferred in the Asian tradition as an soothing evening tea.
Notes: Rare TeaFountain Mild Ceremony Usu (Thin Tea) Choice is the TF # 1330 / Stone Ground – Japan’s Uji Region teas are plucked in four periods during the growing season. This very mild Certified Organic USU EDITION (Thin Tea) tea is the best one Japan has to offer.
The small Gyokuro leaves are harvested starting the end of May after being covered for 20 days in 90% shade (more chlorophyll / less tannin / darker leaf / sweeter taste). The chopped leaf becomes the ‘Tencha’ that is ground into MATCHA, Japan’s ceremonial tea.
Serve as ceremonial, occasional or special after dinner tea and a cleansing beverage.
