Rare Coarse Leaf Infusion / TeaFountain Superb Oolong Edition / The coarse and large leaves of this superior Yu Lan Xiang-Style are a 'Champagne of the China Teas'. This tea is a sweet and superb selection from the Phoenix Mountains in the Feng Huang province. In the withering process the leaves are shaped by hand and then wood-charcoal fired in wicker baskets to create and preserve a dark long-leaf with a magnolia blossom aroma that carries a fruity aftertaste. A gentle steaming and semi-fermentation process (approx. 18%) of this precious tea allows the external part of the leaf to ferment without changing its cores chemistry significantly. Light, amber-colored infusion. Outstanding flavor. Preferred by the tea connoisseur as afternoon & 'Dinner Tea' choice. To sweeten add just a few White Rock Candy Crystals or our popular Oregon Tea Honeys # 88005. To prepare this selection use hot, not boiling water, let infuse for 3 minutes before serving and, if desired, add hot water up to 2 times to the same leaves, allowing the tea to infuse a couple of minutes longer each time. Theine (caffeine) content: Medium / Gift Tin Packaging General Info: Academic research shows that green and semi-fermented thea sinensis leaves are potent fat burners and help to prevent cancer and arteriosclerosis. Precious leaves from the Fujian Province in China are also referred to as Wulong or Wu-Long Teas (named after Wu Liang who, as legend has it, started the semi-fermentation process of the 'Black Dragon' leaves).
