Quality loose leaf black tea production starts with fresh tea leaves which are picked from the Camellia sinensis plant and flushed out on screens to wither and dry. A fermentation/oxidation takes place by adding oxygen and moisture to the leaves. A change in the chemistry creates more tannin and theine in the leaves and results in the dark color and distinctive flavor. All loose leaf black teas handled, brokered and offered by TeaFountain are naturally grown and fairly traded. Theine (caffeine) content: Medium to High.
Our Loose-Leaf Black Teas are packaged in custom-designed, decorative and sealed round 'Silver Glow' Metal Tins with our award-winning art labels.
